Newbie to Wii and a lover of Tomb Raider ...

Hello All!

Just to give you a little background, the last time I played Tomb Raider was at least 10+ years ago when Tomb Raider was available on Sega..yes very long time ago. Anyhoot, my boyfriend got me a Nintendo Wii for my birthday in September. I thought it was revolutionary.. got akick out of tennis...until I crashed into the steam heater and badly bruised my knee.So then.. all was quite in the Wii front, it is nice, but I longed for my Tomb Raider Game from back in the day..... so while watching TV I see the commericial... Tomb Raider Anniversary for the Wii!! I was soooo ecstatic, that on Black Friday I was online in the dark cold wee hours of the morning in front of Circuit City..not waiting for a laptop..but to get my Tomb Raider....Now I must admit... I cheat.. From what I have read on these forums I KNOW you all have the ability of a natural.. you are graceful with your numchuck... precise with your aim... as well as I acknowledge this, I must also succumb to the fact that I have no natural talent with any game system. I am as graceful and asa bull in a china shop. I have developed a keen way of making Lara run around in circle, hit walls, and move the camera so ferociously..that I make myself queasy. So because of this lack of ability.. with the purchase of my gamewas the strategy guide to go with it. I anxiously swiped both items off the shelf and checked out immediately. This now takes me to this first ever forum post for me. I love this new game.. LEAPS and BOUNDS from my old Sega Game .. she moves great.. she crawls... she grunts.. she has longer hair.. but I think I am getting schooled by the controller. I like to complete the manor before I dare step out into the world and I need help!!I am in the mansion, study area trying to jump backwards and turn around and aim at the button behind the painting.. and cannot get my BUTT spun around fast enough to hit the target before the painting covers it up again. I see in here and on the web there has been mention that the controls are ''difficult'' for the Wii.. but can any of you GAME GODS help me get past this point? I can jump on the painting... get it down ... even jump back onto the ledge but I can't turn around fast enough and point the friggin camera in the direction I want to shoot.. if i just turn around i am facing her..and i can't aim.... i try to hit the target with the laser point..but i can't see to point on the target..PLEASE HELP GAME GODS>>> i am at your mercy..New Tomb GirlNewbie to Wii and a lover of Tomb Raider ...

Hi Steve,Ok.. I just got the grapple.. i read that you have to flick your numchuck to use it..i am flicking away and no grapple action :( I tried to select it from list of items and it wont select... HelpThanks! Michelle
Actually..what exactly is ''flick the nunchuck'' mean? I thought the nunchuck didn't have anything on it that responds to the sensor..so how will the game know i flicked it? Maybe I dont know what ''flick means'>> i was smacking it a forward motion like a drum stick.. is that right? do i have to hit a button to perform a proper flick?
HA HA..i am a totallly bolognie head...i got it to work..how does the sensor know i am flicking it..its doesn thave that remote glass in the front like the wii remote...what a wack a do..i am... i can see a lot of hand holding in store for me. I am excited though... ok on to the next problems.:-)

wow... michelle that was intersting... and .. hmmm... funny..anyway.. for the future try editing your post (i do not mind) but i notice that you are new here and some mods may dislike the double posting spree...And.. can you tell me how is the game ???.. i`m waiting for an used copy... is it as good as we have hype (those of us that has)??Oh... bit OT, but the nunchuck is connected to the wiimote and someone explain to be with one million tech words that somehow it get sense by the wiimote or something like that...have fun.. and let me know how good is it :)

the nunchuck has tilt motion sensing in it. it can sense when you move it up, down, left, right i believe.

Hi,Thanks for the tip on double posting.. i rather edit then post than have to admitI was a goof ball and figured it out 2 seconds later. I tried some of the other tomb raiders but my favorite was always the first. This game really reminds me of the first. I love the puzzles... that go with this. I thought the Wii controls were going to be too hard for me but for the most part it has been ok so far. I am novice so if I say its ok, you will probably think it is excellent. I stumbled to figure out how to turn and aim and use the camera control..but other then that, the graphics are great and I like sound effects when Lara Shimmeys and manuvers..it sounds cool.
Whoa whoa whoa whoa WHOA! Buy Super Mario Galaxy... do not buy Tomb Raider... :(
well... i`m defenetely getting this one.. especially now that Soulcalibur is ****
I'm about four levels into TR Anniversary, and I'm loving this game so far. It's even better than TR Legend (which I beat four times)! The Wii controls work very well, and really enhances the gameplay. I wish more people would buy TR Anniversary. I want more Tomb Raider games released on Wii. :)
What is that Wii # you have referenced in your signature?
Do you find the controls with the Wii very challenging?? more so then the 1 controller with the other game systems? I am having some trouble with the hand ..eye.. controller.. i am still new..maybe i will get better
