i just read history of video games in wikipedia and it said nintendo confirmed thier next gen system will have 1080p! but i dont really trust wiki, is this true?
of course not... (imo) they are earning too much money with this one, and it just has one year of release. why are they going to be thinking about teh next one.. and even if they do (maybe thinking what they would like to change of tis one...) If... IF they are why would tehy start talking about it...and even more.. is wikipedia... so :?
Sigh please do a search. Nintendo stars working on desiging a new console/portable when the prior one launches.
He said he doesn't really trust Wikipedia, so i think it was unnecessary to put that link. Anyways to answer your question... False.
yeah, of course they are already thinking about the next console. And you know what, Sony and Microsoft are as well! But saying that there are facts that their next console will support 1080p is nothing more than an ''educated guess''.Of course the first plans for the console of the next cycle are being made when the current system launches. But the when you will hear about it for the first time depends on how succesfull the current console is.
It is common knowledge that system manufacturers start working on their next system soon after launch. Nintendo has stated that the next system will be HD and that the Wii has an intended 4-5 year life cycle. Nintendo was clear about it's intentions with the Wii and that is to draw in new gamers and old gamers who have lost interest in gaming. Building a significantly more power system than the GameCube was not the answer in Iwata's view. Nintendo is in-fact working on their 8th generation console and the other people who posted here saying they are not, have no idea what they are talking about.

As does every single console company in business.

wii already surpassed ps2 in its first year with the best game of 7th generation......
Well Shigeru did confirm full HD support fir their next console, but that's all we know.

Since HD will have finaly matured and have a set standard within the next few years it would make sense and be to Nintendo's benefit to have an HD console ready. Prelimary discussions about the next console actually start about a year before release of the current gen console. However, budgeting, and R%26D doesn't start until after the current gen console is completed and or released. The GameCube was completed in late 2000 and released in late 2001. The idea of the Wii remote came into fruition in late 2001 (I believe that's when Nintendo licensed the motion sensing patents from Gyration inc. I could be wrong though)as well as R%26D of the Wii. It was long rumored that a motion sensing controller was in the works for the GameCube. In the Wii's case the controller may have come first and then the console.
hhhmmm now will nintendo be conventional and release it at the same time as micro. and Sony's new next gen?
probably the next system will go to 780p cause they have to start competing with the other consoles graphically
