With Wii's flying off the shelf it's only a matter of time before Wii owners get some killer 3rd party support. I'm waiting and hopeing for that next game that can meet RE4's greatness. I'm realy disapointed that RE5 hasn't been anounced for the wii. So I wonder what developsers will step up to the plate. Tecmo anounced Rygar and Rockstar has jumped on boardtoo so I'm wonder how long it will take before we get that first AAA 3rd party game.I'm looking for that game that will take full advantage of the Wii's grafical capabilities and notbe a port of some PS2 game. Wheres the 3rd party support?
I'm sorry you live out of the three major regions for games.Maybe ask your local stores if they could get certain games for you?Wheres the 3rd party support?
The game sales are holding them back. There are soo many Wiis out there but the games aren't selling nearly as well as 360 titles. The top selling game is Wii sports and Wii play. Rule number one causal gamers don't buy many games. Developers can see this. Also some of them don't want to have to compete with Nintendo's games.
Capcom, Atlus, Konami, Ubisoft, EA(Shudders). Have all been releasing good games on the wii.
The idea of the wii just being for ''casual gamers'' pisses me off. Third party developers are scared of the wii because it presents new challenges, and they usually never even attempt to push the wii to its limit. Once third party developers begin to get more comfortable with the wii, we can expect a lot of great games. But until that point...my guess is another year or two...expect more half-assed games.
They're probably just afraid. I think of it this way.. The DS, when it came out, wasn't that grade with third party games. Just felt like better GBA games. Now its a rich library of games and alot of them have cool touch screen ideas. The same will happen with Wii, just takes alittle time ;)
Actually wii game sales are quite high. They may not chart inthe top tenhowever they don't drop like a stone like the ps3 and xbox 360 games do the next week.Remember a game in the US to be on the charts has to sell a hundred thousand that month at least. If a game sells 80,000 each month for a year it's going to do more then a front loaded game that sold 90% of it's lifetime sales in one week as is typical for xbox 360 and ps3 games. Also wii games are more profitable then xbox 360 and PS3 games. The latest financial report stated Nintendo expected to ship97 million wii games in the fiscal year which ends in March 2008. The number of ds games expected to ship is 165 million from 140 million. They increased the number of projected wii game sales by tens of millions of games. They are having issues printing wii game discs due to the increased demand. They had issues printing ds games due to the sales. The games are selling extremely well despite what you think.http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/library/events/071026/index.html is something that should enlighten you.

[/QUOTE]High selling Nintendo made games. Developers don't like to compete with Nintendo like I said. If you look at the top selling Wii games there Nintendo made. Also there causal gamer games. This sends a message to developers. Just like the Halo 3 sales did. Halo 3 topped Mario sales in its first 24 hours of release. Mario's more of a hardcore gamer's game but it's not nearly selling as well as developers expected. This tells them that there aren't many hardcore gamers and that the game sale rates are too slow.
Mario has steady sales over years. Halo 3 sales on the other hand have dropped like a rock. It is highly likely that Super Mario Galaxy will outsell Halo 3 in the US by several million when this console gen is done. Halo 3 is largely an American game. that shot it's load in it's first few days.http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iueSz3U1iRSp4kaHPsKabs2hzUaAD8T6A6A00 300,000 consoles in one week in NA alone. Some people are predicting million plus numbers for the wii for November.Third party games do sell if they are advertised and are considered well done. It's called quality there are devs who think if they put crap on a Nintendo console it will sell since they could do the same on the crapstations. Sony is begging developers to not leave them. Microsoft is having a hard time keeping their exclusives. The games for the ps3 xbox 360 are bombing hard. So they have to develop for the wii and guess what some of them see the wii as just a cash in so they can get money for developing xbox 360 and ps3 games so that if those games bomb they won't go out of business.Eff the third parties 99.9999 of their efforts for any console are complete and utter trash. Btw hardcore gamers make a minority of game purchasers. It's the casuals who buy mostsystems and most games.
