I couldn't turn on my Wii this evening

So I got home from work, grabbed the remote and pressed the power button. The Wii didn't turn on, and the the four blinking lights on the remote went off. I tried it again. No response. I thought the controlled must have become unsynched somehow, so I pressed the power button, which shows the orange standby light. Nothing. I ejected the disc, put it back in and still got nothing. I then pressed and held on the power button, and the light turned red. I pressed it again, and it turned on. This is the first time this has happened to me. Has it happened to anyone else? Is this something that could start reoccuring? Should I be concerned about this? Does it have something to do with WiiConnect 24 always being on?I couldn't turn on my Wii this evening

I had a similar issue earlier today. I tried to go on the internet channel, but as soon as I click enter(or whatever it says there)the screen goes black(waited 10 minutes, doesn't load)and the wiimote disconnects(and never connects back). So I went up and hit power, works fine ever since.Yours sounds a bit worse then mine though, if it happens again I would call Nintendo.

Unplug your Wii and plug it back in. Works every time for me.
it prolly overheated and like he said above me just take out the plug from the back of the wii and put it back in

Happens to me if I try to start a game after immediately booting the Wii up.
