Don't like Wiimote but want a Wii...

I know this question has been asked a lot, but my concern is different. Basically, I don't like Wiimote. The idea of jumping around and doing all these motions makes me personally cringe, and I get very embarrased when I see the adverts on TV... specially that Mario Olympics one. I was wondering if the classic Wii controller is any good and makes for good gameplay. I'm asking about games like SMG, Metroid Prime 3, and Zelda. thanks.Don't like Wiimote but want a Wii...

The commercials are a bit exaggerated, Wii Sports is better when you stand and wave around a bit. But the games you mentioned are easy to play sitting, no standing waving your arms around required.
you should first of all try it, since most of the games do not involve what you describe as ''jumping around and doing all these motions'' they are more just very small movements like waggle, or pointing.
Secondly the virtual console controller is only for the virtual console and selected games, none of which you mentioned

A lot of people think that the whole idea of the wiimote is swinging your arms around like a foo,but for most Wii games its as much as a flick of the wrist. Well... excpet maybe mario olympics, butthats point of that game.
