about my last topic on SMG!!

i would like to say i'm sorry for having my own opinion about SMG....guess thats not allowed. Also i would like to say that i did not intend on making anyone mad about my topic. thank you for assuming what i said...but anyways i do think that SMG is a horrible game...once again i am a mario fan and yes i understand that gameplay is better than graphics but i also talked about how the gameplay was lame along with the storyline....please read all of this before assuming what you thought i said..So what is everyones thoughts on SMG...room for improvement or not...i want some good feedbackabout my last topic on SMG!!
nice to hear someone has an opinion
just don't air it here, fanboys are very protective, especially with their mascotspersonally I think mario is a stroke of genius in a dying genre, and a stroke of genius for a gameplay mechanic which FPS have been messing around with for a long time and can't find a very interesting concept with it (bar the half life franchise)... PHYSICS
but so each their ownabout my last topic on SMG!!
I like SMG it has alot of quick action in it ;)
i Dont have it, but just the thought of it being in space makes me think ''what happened?'' but i really havent played it so i dont know. But i guess i do kind of agree with you
I personally don't agree with you at all. I think your opinion is way off base. The gameplay is most excellent, and the actual physics are truly amazing. The story is quite lame, true, but not many players care what the story is about on a Mario platform type game. The graphics are beautiful, and are very artistic and creative, stop comparing them to a higher graphical console.I say this all the time, not all games are made for all people. Only in your case, SMG is made for most gamers who have an IQ over that of a chimp.
You're free to have your own opinion, but other people are free to react to it, and the more off the wall the opinion, the stronger the reactions.
I have the game and I love it, the only complaint I got is that the camara gets a little ackward sometimes, apart from that, the game looks, feels, plays and is fantastic :).
You say the gameplay is bad, you say the story is bad (which, by the way, is always how it has been for Mario games), and I'm guessing you don't like the graphics either? So my question to you is: can you explain why you think the gameplay is bad? I don't care about the story because that has never been a high-point in a Mario game, but why do you think the ''gameplay is lame''? You have provided us with no examples, so of course some people are going to flip out at you. Plese explain, so people can understand why you would say that, because right now you just sound like you're trolling the Wii forums.

Well, I agree with the original poster.......somewhat. I don't think Galaxy is terrible, but is it the second best game ever (see gamerankings.com)? Hell no. It's good, not great. The story is non-existant (fair enough, it is a Mario game). The graphics are a tad better than Sunshine (fair enough, it's a Wii game). The controls are good. They're innovative but still have that classic Mario feel to them. However, with so many Wii game reviews people either cut a game too much slack or they penalize it far too much. With Galaxy,no one appears to be doing the latter. It's just praise, praise and more priase. Personally, I'd rate the game an 8 out of 10. It doesn't do enough to ''wow'' me frankly. I like Galaxy, I'm glad I own it, but this is not a generation defining game by any means.
For people like me, who's favorite game of all time is Super Mario 64, and quickly becoming Galaxy, I can't understand where you can come from. Galaxy is the first time I've smiled while playing a game since Mario Tennis. Otherwise, its just been satiation of my predatorial instinct. I don't think my game library reflects that now (which is how I realized what a crap heap GTA is), but with Galaxy, I can't deny it. It's absolutely amazing, and it may save the platformer from extinction, which is something the gaming world desperately needs. Galaxy redefinesthe gaming genre that we basically all grew up with. How can you possibly deny it a place in the books?

Your final comment in your other thread was an obvious instance of trolling. You claimed that your opinion was the absolute truth and that no one could disagree with you. Then you laughed. How is anyone supposed to argue with someone of that mindset? Be a little more open-minded, be a little more courteous and tactful, then you can create negative topics without trolling. You don't walk into an atheist convention and say ''God exists'' and expect to convert anyone to Christianity. To be taken seriously, you have to remember who you're talking to and adjust your language accordingly. It's a valuable lesson to learn.PM me if you have any further questions.
